The article presents a brief overview of contemporary discussions on the transformation historical memory in digital culture, and above all video games. representation heroic tragic narratives games, most often related to World War II I, respectively, differs significantly. former uses realistic strategy emphasizes visual detailing, linear plot construction, synchronization in-game, fictional, time. Authenticity is perceived here through realism details. narrative deconstructivist representation, characterized by animated or impressionistic graphics positioning war itself as main enemy, not national armies individual soldiers. Thus, authenticity understood reference existential nature experience. prevails popular but increasingly intertwined with tragic.
